Drop-In Table Tennis Pilot Program at the International District Community Center

In an effort to test the waters in hopes of offering a few indoor programs this year, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) will begin with drop-in table tennis on a trial basis at the International District/Chinatown Community Center from Tuesday 27 April 2021.

Tables must be reserved in advance by registering at our registration portal. (You need to create an account if you don’t already have one.) Registration begins Tuesday, April 20 at noon.

To comply with public health guidelines, attendees should expect health checks upon entering the community center. In addition to staff, players must wear a mask while in the building. A number of other protocols must be followed; please see the Health and security rules below.

Ping-pong slots can be reserved at the Center at the following times. This calendar is correct until 30/12/21.

Mon. / Wed. / Fri.

Session I 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Session II 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Tue. / Thu.

Session I 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.


Session I 1:00-4:30 p.m.

Health and safety rules

  1. Pre-registered program participants will be required to participate in the Covid-19 screening protocol upon entering IDCCC. (COVID-19 related symptoms and screening questions will be asked and a thermometer will be used to check the participant’s body temperature during check-in).
  2. A maximum of 16 people will be allowed inside the centre’s gymnasium.
  3. There is a two hour game limit.
  4. All program participants will be required to wear a mask always while moving throughout the building. Players will be allowed to remove their mask during competitions (during play only). Players are also allowed to temporarily remove their face masks to drink water).
  5. Fountains are still prohibited.
  6. Tables will be cleared before a new player uses a table.
  7. No double play is allowed.
  8. No side changes allowed between matches.
  9. No multi-ball play is allowed.
  10. No wiping of hands allowed on tables during games.
  11. No cleaning of paddles by breathing on them is allowed.
  12. The center will not provide drinking water. Please bring your own.
