When do the Olympic Games start and end?

The opening ceremony for the Tokyo Summer Olympics will be broadcast live on NBC starting at 6:55 a.m.ET on Friday, July 23.

The closing ceremony for the Tokyo Summer Olympics will also be broadcast live on NBC starting at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 8.

The Olympic flag will be presented by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike to IOC President Thomas Bach. He will then hand the Olympic flag to the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, host of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

This is the second Summer Olympics to take place in Tokyo. The Japanese city also hosted the 1964 Summer Games.
