The multi-disciplinary event will see the creation of heroes in over 15 sports as well as the introduction of five indigenous sports – Gatka, Thang-ta, Kalarippayattu, Mallakham and Yogasana.
The competition will begin with a spectacular opening ceremony on Saturday 4 June. Defending champions Maharashtra and hosts Haryana are gearing up for a battle royal for supremacy on the pitch in various disciplines.
Quotas:
Haryana fielded a contingent of 396 members, the largest at KIYG 2021, and will compete in all sports. Maharashtra has sent a contingent of 318 people and will take part in 23 of the 25 events.

In total, no fewer than 4,700 athletes, including 2,262 girls, will compete in 25 sports for 269 gold, 269 silver and 358 bronze medals.
