The Monterey team enjoys success at a recent provincial competition held in Greater Victoria

An Oak Bay table tennis club celebrates success following the 55+ BC Games.

The 20 members of the Monterey Center Table Tennis Club won 19 gold, 12 silver and five bronze medals at this year’s locally held annual sporting event.

“Congratulations to the medalists. And, we thank all of our members who participate and display the happy and competitive ‘game spirit’ that exists in Monterey,” said member Joan Wells.

Over 2,500 competitors took part in 22 sports and activities over four days in September as venues across Greater Victoria hosted the 55+ BC Games.

The event is an annual multi-sport competition celebrating healthy, active adults 55 and older. Each year the event is hosted by a different city or region of the province.

The next event is scheduled for August 22-26, 2023 in Abbotsford.
