Pickleball promises a lot of fun!

Come and try Australia’s fastest growing sport at Samford – Pickleball, a mix of badminton, table tennis and tennis, creates a fun sport for everyone

Zak, who founded Samford Pickleball at the back of his Samford Valley Tennis center said this hands-on paddle sport that you can learn in minutes and play for a lifetime is accessible to everyone from all walks of life.

“All of our new players can play a match within 20 minutes of practice, and now enjoy our round robin match play sessions twice a week,” Zak said.

“Pickleball is more versatile than tennis where you can have four players of different skill levels to enjoy a competitive match – unlike tennis where the skill levels need to be similar. Rallies are generally longer, while being less physically demanding compared to other racquet sports,” Zak said.

Alongside their match play sessions, Zak hosts occasional practice sessions where players can improve their skills to prepare for the many Pickleball tournaments held throughout the year. The next practice session will be at the River City Classic, Shaw Park on June 25-26.
