Scottish showbiz legend Ross King reveals his secret to looking young

Showbiz legend Ross King has shared his secret to looking young: playing a sport called pickleball.

The ITV correspondent at Lorraine show LA, 60, said: ‘It sounds ridiculous because the name is so silly but it’s sensational – a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis.

“I go to a place in Studio City in Los Angeles to play. It is one of the fastest growing sports in America.

Ross, who hails from Motherwell and began his career at Radio Clyde and the BBC, became the Los Angeles correspondent for GMTV in 1993 along with replacements Daybreak and Lorraine.

In Pickleball, a plastic ball pierced with holes is hit by small rackets on a badminton court.

As in tennis, points are earned when an opponent fails to return the ball and when it is hit out of bounds and the first to 11 points wins the game. There are around 6000 players in the UK.

Famous Pickleball fans include George Clooney, the Kardashians and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Ross got into the sport after staying at a house near Montecito that had a courthouse, while reporting on Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to the area.

He was also coached by world No. 1 American tennis star Andy Roddick while vacationing in Hawaii.
