Snehit will play in the Polish League

Former national junior table tennis champion S. Fidel R Snehit has signed to play for a year with Polish premier league UKS Villa Verde Olesno next season.

The city paddler, who also won a bronze medal in the recent senior national championships, met club owner Marek Tatarczuch and signed a contract on Sunday.

Snehit, who happens to be the state’s only table tennis player to play in the European league, said he was really excited to play in the league which starts in September of this year.

“It’s a new trip that would give me a great opportunity in terms of exposure to international matches,” said Snehit, a final year student of mass communication and journalism at St Joseph’s College.

Snehit has been in Spain for two months to play in the club league championship before moving to Poland where he won a league title last week.

He is set to play a few league games in Germany in July before coming to Hyderabad to take his final exams.

Thank you coach

Snehit thanked his coach Somnath Ghosh from the “Somnath Ghosh MLR-UTT Academy” for his support and strong guidance.

“I’m happy for Snehit. It’s a great opportunity for him to be in the league of international players, ”said Ghosh.
