Tickets for WTT Champions Macau 2022 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group go on sale September 30


MACAU, Sep 29 – WTT Champions Macau 2022 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, hosted by Macau SAR Government Sports Bureau and World Table Tennis (WTT) and co-hosted by Macau General Table Tennis Association , will be held at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from October 19 to 23, 2022. The event will feature the best players in the world who will showcase their spectacular skills to residents and tourists in a breathtaking series of matches.

Galaxy Entertainment Group as Presenting Partner

A press conference was held today (September 29), during which the organizers presented details and ticketing information for the event and announced Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) as presenting partner, and a check handover ceremony was held between the Sports Office and GEG. The press conference was attended by Mr. Pun Weng Kun, Chairman of the Sports Bureau; Mr. Francis Lui, Vice-President of the GEG; Mr. Buddy Lam, Senior Vice President of GEG Headquarters; Mr. João Ma Chi Tat, President of the Macao General Table Tennis Association; and Mr. Allen Lau and Ms. Christine Lam, Vice Presidents of the Sports Bureau; among others.

In his speech, Mr. Pun Weng Kun noted that the Chinese stars of WTT Champions Macau 2021 have not only received support from Macao people, but also propelled the development of sports tourism in the city. He also announced that GEG will again be the presenting partner of the WTT Champions Macau this year, starting in 2020 and 2021. He thanked GEG for its constant support for the development of the sport in Macau and hopes that the collaboration between the two parties can contribute to the development of different industries using sport as a platform.

The world’s best players will compete in Macau

The WTT Champions Macau 2022 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group will be held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from October 19 to 23, 2022. The event will feature 32 top male players in men’s singles and 32 top female players in women’s singles; the preliminary training includes: Fan Zhendong, Ma Long, Sun Yingsha and Chen Meng from China; Tomokazu Harimoto and Mima Ito from Japan; Truls Möregårdh from Sweden; Hugo Calderano from Brazil; and Adriana Díaz from Puerto Rico. The first two days (October 19 and 20) will host the Round of 16 for both categories. The round of 16 will take place on October 21. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will take place on October 22, and the men’s and women’s singles finals will take place on October 23.

Ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. on September 30

The matches from October 19 to 22 will be divided into two sessions: the first session from 10 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. and the second session from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the finals on October 23 will start at 6 p.m. Standard and shortside VIP tickets for the matches are available and will go on sale from 10 a.m. on September 30. Members of the public can purchase tickets in advance at MacauTicket.com, over the phone or at Kong Seng outlets and mainland sales offices, or at the Tap Seac multi-sport pavilion from October 19-23. Tickets for each session cost between 200 MOP and 800 MOP, depending on different match dates and seats. Free seating applies to all tickets and each person can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per session.

Ticket discounts available for Standard tickets on specific dates

Ticket discounts are offered for standard tickets from October 19 to 22. A 15% discount is available for purchases of four or more tickets for the same day, and a 20% discount for purchases of four or more standard tickets for different dates. Macau full-time student ID holders and Macau residents aged 65 or over can enjoy a 50% discount on standard tickets for the first session of matches taking place between 19 and October 22, with each person limited to one discounted ticket per day. The discount is valid while tickets are sold out and cannot be combined with any other offer. A valid student card or Macau ID must be presented upon entry or full ticket price will apply. The “E-Consumer Benefits Program” does not apply to ticket purchases for this event.

To ensure that the event can be held under safe conditions, anti-epidemic measures will be implemented during the event as required by the Macao SAR government. All spectators must undergo body temperature checks, scan the venue code, present the Macau health code and wear face masks upon entering the venue. VIP Courtside ticket holders are required to undergo self-arranged nucleic acid testing and present a valid 48-hour negative test result upon entry to the venue. The organizers will continue to closely monitor the epidemic status and make arrangements for epidemic prevention during the event in accordance with relevant guidelines issued by the Health Bureau.
