Video: Emma Raducanu steps into a whole new sport as she plays at the Citi Open 2022


British tennis star Emma Raducanu is one of the best tennis players of the current generation. The 19-year-old had her best performance at the US Open last year. She defeated Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in straight sets to win her first Grand Slam title. However, the Briton hasn’t given a meaningful performance since then. Recently, the 19-year-old pulled out of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships after losing her second round match to Caroline Garcia.

Currently, the Briton is attending the Citi Open in an effort to prepare for her US Open title defense. Meanwhile, in a viral video, the 19-year-old was seen playing table tennis.

Emma Raducanu plays table tennis

The tennis star has this time left his racket to pick up a ping-pong bat. She engaged in a fun table tennis battle.

In the video, we can see Raducanu all cheered up as she tries to score a point. Her mother was also present there, recording a video of her daughter.

Winning start for Raducanu at the Citi Open

Emma Raducanu started her summer swing on hard court with a bang. She performed brilliantly in the first game of her Citi Open campaign. Facing qualifier Louisa Chirico, she recorded a win in straight sets. The defending US Open champion took just one hour and 27 minutes to claim a 6-4, 6-2 victory over her American opponent.

Later, the 19-year-old spoke to the media. “It feels really good to get a win here in DC. And after not playing for quite a while after Wimbledon or many matches this year, I think it’s really nice to get on set. she said.

Additionally, she explained how crucial the first game of any tournament is.

“I think playing any first round is always quite difficult. Then when you’re not necessarily that sharp, the little things aren’t necessarily right. It’s just important to stay calm. she added.
